Frequently Asked Questions

What size am I?

See our sizing chart (in product images) on each product page for garment specific measurements and comparable Australian generic sizing.

As a general guide, our t-shirts are on the looser side. For a slimmer fit, size down 1-2 sizes. For an oversized look, size up 2-3 sizes. Be aware that our shirts are slightly cropped, but they’re guaranteed to look amazing - however you wear them!

Hoodies and jumpers are cropped but loose fitting. Again, for an oversized fit, go up 2-3 sizes, and for a slim fit, size down 1-2 sizes.

Our Equal Play Equal Pay Jumper is not cropped and fits true to size (see our specific size guide). For the best result, we recommend measuring your favourite garment flat from armhole to armhole.

How inclusive is your sizing?

We aim to be as inclusive as possible. Our tees are sourced from Comfort Colours and American Apparel and range in sizes S-2XL.

They are specifically designed for women with a relaxed, boxy and slight crop for the shorter girlies.

If we don’t yet have your size available, we are so sorry. We are working hard to source a wider range of sizing – watch this space!

How are your clothes made?

Our tees and ‘Dump Him’ jumpers are locally designed and printed in Western Australia by yours truly. Our Equal Play Equal Pay half zip jumper is made via the screen printing process locally in WA.

We use ethically sourced clothing from American Apparel, Comfort Colours and CB Clothing (Australian Cotton).

We hand press our prints directly onto the shirts and jumpers ourselves. This allows us to make our clothing to order and in small batches, thereby reducing our waste!

Keep your clothing looking as good as possible by following these steps:

  1. Turn garment inside out
  2. Wash on a cold, gentle cycle
  3. Hang out to dry or tumble dry on low heat
  4. Avoid ironing over the print
  5. Spritz with strong feminist energy
  6. Be bold, feel empowered
  7. Rock your amazing looks

Who are you?

We’re an Australian apparel brand with a strong feminist focus, hence the name ‘The F Word’ (no, not the first ‘F’ word to come to mind).

Our designs are relatable, unique and feature important messages tackling gender inequality. If you’re as passionate about these issues as we are, we guarantee you’ll love wearing them.

How did you come to be?

Frustrated at the double standards we have always been held to compared to our male counterparts – brothers, cousins, sporting teams, colleagues (the list goes on) – we made a few relatable feminist slogans to express how we were feeling. Much to our surprise, they proved to hit a common nerve.

So we started making relatable feminist prints as a way to channel our passion for equal rights, in the hope that these unique slogans would spark everyday conversations and create small steps to changing culture.

Our values

We are passionate about issues that affect women. Gendered violence disproportionately affects women, and we believe that this stems from gender inequality and patriarchy engrained in our culture.

In Australia, 2 in 5 women experience violence from the age of 15, and the most dangerous place for a woman is in her own home.

As such, we donate 10% of every single sale to Full Stop Australia, who offer a 24/7 counselling line as well as working in the advocacy space to put a stop to sexual, domestic and family violence in Australia. Shop with us and be confident knowing that you’ll be supporting this important organisation.

We care about the planet. Our clothing is made with the planet in mind, and we run our business in the same way. See the next section on sustainability.

We care what happens to our planet – which is why we run every aspect of our business with sustainability in mind.

Our packaging and mailers are home compostable and we aim to use recycled, reusable and/or compostable products wherever possible. For example, our washing instructions are printed on recycled cards, and we reduce our waste by hand printing our garments in small batches to reduced excess.

We will only source our garments from companies with similar values on caring for the planet. Shop with us and feel confident knowing that you’re reducing the impact of fast fashion on the earth.

Your purchase does more than just make a statement—it creates real change. We're proud to announce that 10% of every purchase you make goes directly to Full Stop Australia, a renowned Australian charity dedicated to eradicating sexual, domestic, and family violence in our communities.

By shopping with us, you're not only expressing your support for gender equality and empowerment, but you're also contributing to a cause that actively works towards creating safer environments for all. Join us in making a tangible difference and standing up against violence.

Together, we can help put a stop to these pervasive issues and foster a society that champions respect, equality, and safety for everyone.
